Amsterdam's 'Weekend Of Rolling Trucks' Brings In Street Food
If the people of the Netherlands can't get their marijuana fix at a coffee shop, at least they'll have street food to comfort them: This weekend comes Amsterdam's biggest food truck festival, the "Weekend of Rolling Trucks." (Original name.)
The festival, in its fifth year, will include more than 75 food trucks that will descend on Amsterdam's popular Westergasfabriek Park. The "open air restaurant" has some delicious eats on the menu — choose from ceviche, sushi, wood-fired pizzas, barbecue pork rolls, and more.
The New York Times reports that food is just one of the highlights of the weekend: Each vendor will have its own live entertainment; plus, two bands are slated to perform, Seeka and Safari Blue. Be sure to check out the films showing at the park, too — Babette's Feast, Tampopo, and Big Night (all films with culinary themes) are on the docket.
