Amar'e Stoudemire Pops The Question Over Dinner In Paris
Knicks superstar Amar'e Stoudemire's proposal plan went off without a hitch this weekend.
The basketball player and Alexis Welch, the mother of his three children, were on a Paris getaway when he proposed.
After a tour of Paris, including a stop at the Louvre, Stoudemire surprised Welch with dinner on the terrace of their penthouse at Le Meurice Hotel's Belle Etoile Royal Suite. Then, in the glimmering lights of the Eiffel Tower, Stoudemire proposed with a 8.5-carat radiant-cut ring with a price tag of more than $1 million.
"I have been planning my proposal for a while and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place. I am so happy she said 'yes,' and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife," Stoudemire said to PEOPLE magazine from Paris.
