There are plenty of chili recipes that deserve a touchdown.

Game day is about two things: sports and food. While you’re watching the big game, chili is always a favorite snack choice. Whether it’s poured over nachos, on a hot dog, or served simply in a bowl with melted cheese on top, chili is a winner. Traditional beef chili always scores, but there are plenty of other options that deserve a touchdown.

With so many options for chili options and the Super Bowl this weekend, we put the Culinary Content Network and our staff to the test to come up with essential game day chili recipes. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Lauren Gordon, Entertain editor at The Daily Meal, made a spicy pork sausage chili with white beans and peppers.
  • Lori Yates of Foxes Love Lemons shared with us her recipe for healthy and vegetarian black bean chili. Yates is a member of the Culinary Content Network.
  • The winner this week the Creole Contessa and her recipe for slow cooker chili with ground turkey and beef roast. Sounds like a game day winner! Creole Contessa is a member of the Culinary Content Network.

All of the recipes featured can be made at home for about $20 or less, excluding the cost of small amounts of basic ingredients such as butter, oil, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and other dried herbs and spices.
