7-Eleven To Unveil Mini Tacos For Late-Night Snackers

7-Eleven is adding a new item to its lineup that's sure to delight late-night grazers nationwide: mini tacos. The new dish will include four spicy beef tacos for $1 — that's a heck of a deal. The tacos are currently available in select 7-Eleven stores.

The brand was inspired to create this product by a recent study conducted by The Hartman Group and Food Technology Magazine, which reported that almost half of all food consumption in the U.S. occurs between meals, and that about half of the current U.S. population snacks at least twice a day. Mini tacos should certainly appeal to heavy snackers.

In a press statement released this week, Jesús Delgado-Jenkins, 7-Eleven executive vice president for merchandising, marketing, and logistics said, "Millions of Americans visit our stores each day to grab convenient drinks and eats. We saw a need to add an easy-to-eat, portable snack to our hot foods selection. Pizza and wings are extremely hot-sellers for us, as are Go-Go Taquitos® on the grill. We think these mini tacos are going to be another big hit."

The tacos will be prepared with a filling of shredded beef, green chiles, jalapeño peppers, cilantro, spices, and mini crispy corn tortillas. They will be heated in the stores' rapid-cook ovens before they're served. 7-Eleven plans to offer other taco varieties in the future.
