5 Things You Didn't Know About Boar's Head Deli

The Boar's Head Provision Company was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 1905, and today distributes its deli products throughout the United States. Most of the delis that serve it display the products proudly in their cases, and seal their sandwiched with a logo sticker. But while you've most likely been eating Boar's Head your whole life, we bet that there are a handful of things you didn't know about it.

It Started with a Horse-Drawn Wagon
Founder Frank Brunckhorst delivered Boar's Head's first products to delicatessens via horse-drawn wagon.

It's Still Family-Run
Today, the fifth generation of the Brunckhorst family runs the company.

They Make Condiments
It's not just deli turkey they produce; they also make condiments including mustard, horseradish sauce, sauerkraut, barbecue sauce, onions in sauce, Cajun-style remoulade, and even hummus.

There are Low-Sodium Offerings
Along with No Salt Added Oven Roasted Turkey Breast, they also produce lower sodium ham, cheese, roast beef, bologna, and frankfurters. There are also plenty of products they produce that are unhealthy, though.

Their Website is Full of Recipes
You can search for recipes based on just about all of their offerings, including appetizers, panini, side dishes, and 100-calorie recipes.
