From The Daily Meal’s list of the 101 Best Restaurants in America for 2012, here are the restaurants located in New York City that were chosen by our illustrious panel of judges.
The thought of the New York culinary scene usually conjures up images of cream cheese cheesecake, slices of folded pizza, and sidewalk hot dogs with sauerkraut. Or maybe it drums up images of rye bread sandwiches stacked high with corned beef and pastrami, and fresh bagels. There are so many outstanding specialties to choose from when it comes to food in The Big Apple, which is precisely why 30 New York restaurants made this list.
The restaurants on this list are from all over the city, from Queens to Brooklyn, though the majority is located in Manhattan. The restaurants also vary greatly in cuisine type, ambiance, and price point. There are the buzzier places, like ABC Kitchen, and the celeb-filled spots, like Locanda Verde, alongside neighborhood gems like The Little Owl, and fine dining establishments like Le Bernardin (which came in a number one overall). Katz’s Delicatessen even made the list for the second year running.
