Sweet And Simple Lemonade Recipe

Who knew that in just a few short and sweet steps (and we mean sweet in every sense of the word), you could whip up a fresh batch of lemonade for a crowd? This recipe is simple, and by simple, we mean it takes about 5 minutes of prep time — which is pretty much as simple as it gets. Whether you'd like a glass of ice-cold lemonade on its own or if you want to use it as a mixer for something like an Arnold Palmer or some boozy concoction ... the possibilities are endless.

Recipe developer Christina Musgrave of Tasting with Tina came up with this sweet and simple lemonade recipe that you'll want to use repeatedly. "I love that this lemonade has simple ingredients and a classic taste," Musgrave raves. She also perfectly explains why her version is much better than something you would get at the store. "This version has way less sugar and no preservatives, but with the same classic sweet and tart lemonade flavor," Musgrave notes. We guarantee this homemade version will taste far better than anything you can mix up from a packet or buy from a bottle — so let's jump right in!

Gather the ingredients for this sweet and simple lemonade

Sometimes, less is more, and that's definitely the case with the ingredients list for this recipe. You'll need simple syrup, lemon juice, cold water, and lemon slices for garnish. "You can get simple syrup at any grocery store or liquor store," Musgrave notes. It's also easy to make simple syrup from scratch.

Combine the simple syrup and lemon juice

First, grab the simple syrup and a pitcher for serving. Add the simple syrup to the pitcher. Next, add the lemon juice, ideally freshly-squeezed. Stir the two liquids to combine.

Add water and ice

Now, you can go ahead and add the cold water and stir again. Then, plop in the ice cubes to chill the lemonade even more and give the ingredients another good stir to combine.

Garnish with lemon slices

The garnish in the recipe serves two purposes — to add flavor and to make the drink look pretty. Just toss the lemon slices into the pitcher and stir again to combine.

This drink is also great to make in advance. "You can make a few hours ahead of time, just stir before serving," Musgrave notes.

Serve and enjoy

To serve, fill individual glasses with more ice and lemon wedges and distribute the lemonade from the pitcher. This beverage is totally refreshing on its own and it's filled with great flavor. "This lemonade is tart and sweet," Musgrave describes. "Each sip is so refreshing!"

She also shares her favorite occasion to bust the recipe out for. "I love this for a classic family BBQ or hot summer day," Musgrave adds. But hey, there's nothing wrong with enjoying this beverage on a cold winter evening.
