Obama And Trudeau's Dinner Date Menu Included Lobster Spaghetti And This Classic Dessert

On June 6, former President Barack Obama met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Liverpool House in Montreal for an intimate dinner date.

Trudeau tweeted a picture of the pair conversing at the restaurant, owned by chef David McMillan.

"How do we get young leaders to take action in their communities? Thanks Barack Obama for your visit & insights tonight in my hometown," Trudeau tweeted.

The Obama Foundation also tweeted a picture about the dinner, writing, "Tonight in Montreal, @BarackObama and @JustinTrudeau discussed their shared commitment to developing the next generation of leaders."

As for what was on the menu for the night, McMillan told CBC News' Daybreak that the pair ate oysters, shrimp, halibut, steak, strawberry shortcake, and spaghetti lobster — one of the restaurant's most popular (and most Instagrammable) dishes.

La Presse that U.S. Secret Service officers visited the restaurant to assess security on Friday. Although there weren't any officers tasting the food, officials did watch the chefs prepare the meals as a security precaution.
