If you’re a home cook and are daunted by piles of thick cookbooks and not sure where to turn next, you may want to check out Menu Musings: the mommy chef blog-turned-cookbook, Menu Musings of a Modern American Mom, that has just been announced as the fastest-growing food blog, according to Indigo River Publishing President Adam Tillinghast. Meet Julie May, the creator. The blog started as a spot for her to write down all of her recipes and easy family meal ideas, and it turned into the world’s first fully interactive cookbook, which attaches QR codes to each recipe that cooks can use to look up more information and photos of the dish.
“I think people enjoy having a place to go where the recipes are simple but still elegant and delicious,” said May. “They are typically the sorts of foods that their own families eat, and since I provide step-by-step photos on all the recipes... there is absolutely no intimidation factor at all! Anyone can do this, and I show them how.
Recipes like Southern-style cornbread dressing, maple bacon green beans with slivered almonds, and Mexican chicken lasagna are part of the cookbook that was just released online earlier this month. Julie May’s blog is a part of The Daily Meal’s Culinary Content Network.
