You Should Swap Your Frappuccino for a Turmeric Latte Right Now

Swapping one coffee day for a turmeric latte can have enormous health benefits

Turmeric lattes are one of this year’s top health trends. If you haven’t already joined this clean-drinking obsession, you need to make sure you do ASAP. Whatever your caffeinated morning vice is, exchanging it for a fresh, vegan turmeric latte will do wonders for your physical and mental health, and will enable you to continue that ritual of making and drinking a comforting milky drink at the beginning of every day.

To make one turmeric latte, combine one teaspoon of peeled and finely chopped fresh turmeric, one teaspoon of peeled and chopped fresh ginger, one tablespoon of coconut sugar, two teaspoons of coconut oil, and a pinch of salt in a blender, until smooth. Meanwhile, heat one cup of almond or coconut milk over medium heat until just simmering, being careful not to let it boil. Finally pour the hot milk into the blender and combine it all until you have a smooth, bright, frothy latte. Drink it immediately.

You may be wondering where the caffeine in this latte is, and it’s true, it is missing. However the health benefits of this drink are so great that your body will feel more awake, more alert, and much stronger when you swap out just one coffee or sugar-rich frappuccino for one yellow, vegan latte every day. Turmeric has been used medicinally in South Asia for 4,000 years, and is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, its ability to improve skin health, to fight infection, to increase your memory capacity, and to reduce cholesterol. Your frappuccino will not do any of these things, and you really won’t miss the caffeine when you’re feeling so much better as a result of beginning your day with a different milky drink: A beautiful, vivid turmeric latte.
