A 'Staycation' Expo for Local Foodies

Brooklyn offers an expo for those stuck in the boroughs

Brooklyn-ites, we know it's rough out there. You can't always get away to North Fork or Vermont like you want to. Fortunately, Escapemaker.com has made your next "staycation" a little more luxurious.

In two weeks, the Local Food and Travel Expo (held in Fort Greene) will not only serve up some of Brooklyn's best foodie goodies, but also day-trip ideas and sustainable getaways, i.e. free tickets to New York State Park events, a Hudson River day cruise, a night at the Ashford Cottage in Orange County, and more.

And the food? Fudge from Howe Caverns, veggies from Moore Street Market, pickles from Rick's Picks, egg creams from Brooklyn Farmacy — the list goes on and on. Plus, Urban Oyster offers culinary tours of Brooklyn, and chef Gautier from Palo Santo gives a food demo. Not too shabby, huh Brooklyn? There is such a thing as the perfect "staycation."
