Grilled Pound Cake with Strawberry Basil Cream Cheese


The toasty flavor of lightly grilled pound cake is great with summer berries. Basil-kissed strawberry cream cheese is a delightful change.


  • Store-bought, all butter pound cake
  • 1/4 Pound cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 Tablespoon basil leaves


Combine the cream cheese, strawberries, honey, and basil in a small food processor. Process until blended. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Light a grill to medium heat, about 350 degrees. Spray the grill grates generously with cooking spray.  Grill pound cake for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly toasted and charred. Serve with fresh strawberries and cream cheese.
