Restaurant Surprises Entire Dining Room On Its Anniversary

Most restaurants celebrate their anniversary with a special prix-fixe menu, or coupons for half-off dessert, but Boca, a well-known French/Italian fusion restaurant in Cincinnati, decided to do something a little different to put a smile on everyone's face. On the evening of their 13th anniversary, the owners at Boca treated every single one of their patrons in the dining room to a free meal. Instead of getting a check, each one of the 200 customers that walked through Boca's doors on Wednesday October 1, received a note that said "Today marks thirteen wonderful years. Thank you for being a part of our story."

"It was just a give back," Sebastien Hue of the Boca Restaurant Group told Cincinnati.com. "We've been humbled and inspired that we've made it this far, and wanted to make a gesture to thank people. It was fun to see, especially the new people who'd never been here before."

Many of the customers, including one couple that was celebrating their own wedding anniversary, were pleasantly surprised but not shocked at the warm gesture, considering the fact that Cincinnati was just voted one of the friendliest cities in the country by Condé Nast.
