The rainbow cookies come in different sizes from one-inch cookies to giant nine-inch cookies.

Chocolate chip cookies have gotten a makeover, and they honestly might be too cute to eat. New York City’s Baked in Color is perpetuating the rainbow trend with its colorful cookies that seem poised to challenge the famous rainbow bagels from Brooklyn’s Bagel Store.

Julie Waxman, owner and founder of Baked in Color, started the company a year ago, almost 20 years after starting another business called Quickie Cookie, which mostly profited from chocolate chip cookie sales, TODAY reported.

It wasn’t until she was at a grocery store one day and her daughter picked up a rainbow bagel that she decided to combine the two: Classic cookies and the splashes of color currently trending in the food world.

“Why eat a boring chocolate chip cookie when you can have one baked in color? Chocolate chip cookies are America's No. 1 dessert and Baked in Color cookies are the first rainbow chocolate chip cookies on the market," Waxman told The Daily Meal.

To create the cookies, the company forms multi-colored dough into strips and roll them together in non-stick paper. After some twisting, the cookie dough is scooped onto a baking sheet and topped with chocolate chips.

If you want to see the magical dessert in person, you can find Baked in Color at Turnstyle, an underground market located at Columbus Circle and 58th Street. The kiosk is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The cookies, which range in price from $2.50 for a single large cookie and $25 for a jar of 20 cookies, can also be ordered online and delivered to 21 states.
