Amazon Prime Video Is Taking Over Austin’s Market & Tap Room for SXSW

If you think the Twin Peaks and Los Pollos Hermanos pop-ups at SXSW sound like fun, Amazon Prime Video is launching its own exclusive conference and festival activations inspired by several of Amazon’s original series from March 11 to March 14.

Amazon Prime Video will present the Resistance Radio Headquarters on the rooftop of The Market & Tap Room in downtown Austin during the festival. Visitors to the fictional radio station will be able to experience craft cocktails inspired by the overarching theme of “resistance,” with names like Rising Sun, Transmission Intercepted, The Flying Grasshopper Lies Heavy, and H Bomb.

Meanwhile, in the venue’s downstairs space, Amazon will highlight a different original series each night: the Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip on March 11; American Playboy — which examines Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s impact on pop culture — on March 12; and Patriot, which focuses on U.S. intelligence officer John Tavner, on March 13.

The Man in the High Castle will also take over The Belmont on March 14 with a musical showcase featuring Maybach, Big Search, Kelis, and others.
