The Original 'Most Interesting Man In The World' Trades In Beer For Tequila In New Ad

After a decade-long run, the original "Most Interesting Man in the World," Jonathan Goldsmith, was replaced as the Dos Equis spokesman last year by French actor Augustin Legrand. Now Goldsmith has traded in the Mexican beer for something a little stronger: Astral Tequila.

"I told you I don't always drink beer," Goldsmith says in the ad, as a nod to his Dos Equis days when his signature line was: "I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis."

The ad is the first of what will likely be many in the partnership between Goldsmith and Astral Tequila, which is made by wine and spirits company Davos Brands, Forbes reported.

The relatively new brand has banked on the iconic character bringing in the business as he did for Dos Equis — the beer company has enjoyed a 34.8 percent boost in sales since 2007.
