John Besh Foundation, Great Raft Brewing Announce ‘Provisions and Traditions’ Beer Collaboration
Together with the Great Raft Brewing company, the John Besh Foundation has announced a limited-edition, four-part beer series called Provisions and Traditions — a collaboration between brewer Harvey Kenney and individual chefs from restaurants within the Besh Restaurant Group. Each chef will work with the brewer to create a beer that complements the cuisine of his or her restaurant.
The first in the series, Volume One, is the work of chef Brian Landry, executive chef of Borgne. A dry-hopped Kolsch with Louisiana Cajun Country Rice, Volume One is available in Louisiana as of March 23.
Details about the remaining beers, Volumes Three and Four, will be announced this fall.
The Provisions and Traditions collaboration will be available at each of the participating restaurants and at select liquor retailers throughout Louisiana, with one dollar from each beer sold going to the John Besh Foundation, which provides scholarships, grants, and loans to individuals in the New Orleans community with the drive to enact change in New Orleans and Louisiana. The Foundation also works to preserve the culinary history of New Orleans and Louisiana by supporting local chefs and producers.
