Meghan Markle Lived With Toronto Celebrity Chef Cory Vitiello Before Dating Prince Harry

Before it was ever a possibility that Meghan Markle could one day live in a castle (or several), she lived with her boyfriend, celebrity chef Cory Vitiello.

The Suits star and the successful chef — formerly of the Harbord Room and now owner of the rotisserie chicken chain Flock — lived together from for two years in a Toronto townhouse close to a park where they were often spotted walking their dogs, according to a new report in the Daily Mail. It seemed like things were serious between the well-known actress, who films the popular USA Network show in the Canadian city, and the "celebrity" chef who often rejects the moniker.

"There's no downside to being a well-known chef. There are thousands of great cooks in the city, and there are chefs who are more deserving of the celebrity than myself," Vitiello told Toronto Life in a 2016 interview. Vitiello certainly doesn't shun the spotlight. The handsome restaurant owner is a regular on local Toronto TV shows and he also serves as executive chef behind the North American Ferrari Challenge Series.

When news broke of their breakup last year, Vitiello refused to comment to the press on whether or not Prince Harry was the reason for the split. The L.A.-raised actress and Vitiello remained silent on the topic even as she transitioned into her high-profile relationship with the royal, who is third-in-line to the British throne.

However, details of the split may come to light on an upcoming tell-all TV show, called Meet The Markles, airing in the U.K. later this year. Details of Meghan's private life including her breakup with Vitiello and her earlier marriage to and subsequent divorce from former husband Trevor Engelson are anticipated to be revealed by Markle's own family and friends.

The actress has been part of the food world herself. In fact her food, fashion, and lifestyle blog The Tig was named for her favorite Italian wine, Tignanello (the original "Super-Tuscan").

But she shuttered the site earlier this year, perhaps to devote more time to the humanitarian causes she shares a passion for with her new beau, the son of the late Princess Diana.
