'Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro Gets Real About Weight Loss

Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro posed happily with his wife Lisa for an Instagram photo that he used as a platform to provide details on his recent weight loss. The owner of Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken and other locations credits the Optavia program for his slim-down, and was quick to point out that he was not being paid to advertise this method and enforced that it may not work for every type of body.

"A lot of people have been asking me how I've slimmed down lately so I just wanted to share that I've used the Optavia program," he wrote.

"I'm not being paid to say this and it should be noted that I think every body is different and you should do whatever suits you but this is what I'm doing and I'm very happy with the results so far!"

Optavia, formerly called Take Shape for Life, is a program that utilizes coaches and branded meal replacements to assist members in losing weight. However, various websites including BodyNutrition.org have pointed out that it is a multilevel marketing program that is a subsidiary of multimillion-dollar wellness corporation Medifast.

As Valastro pointed out, this form of dieting may not suit everyone, so there's no need to try it to achieve that bikini body. Remember, the only way to have an actual bikini body is put on a dang bikini. Good thing being confident in our own skin is one of the 50 things you need to do this summer!
