Woman Stabs Ex-Boyfriend In 'Hangry' Incident

"Hanger" — as hunger-related anger is colloquially called — is real and evidentially dangerous. A hangry Nashville area woman reportedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend after he refused to feed her.

The victim told police that his ravenous ex-girlfriend, Stranesha Buford, 29, asked him to prepare her food and when he declined tried to hit him with a glass object. Although he was able to restrain her, he was not able to fully immobilize her as she then stabbed him in his left side with a kitchen knife.

Despite being injured, the victim was able to restrain Buford until a family member came to pick him up. He was then taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and treated for his wounds. (It remains unclear whether the relationship ended before the reported incident or because of it.)

Buford is currently being held in Davidson County Jail, where she will presumably receive three square meals a day.
