Easy Tzatziki Sauce Recipe
Tzatziki sauce is a savory Greek yogurt dish made with cucumbers, garlic, herbs (like dill, mint, or parsley) and olive oil, which often includes red wine vinegar or lemon juice as well. Tzatziki sauce pairs nicely with grilled meat and makes a great dip for pita bread or vegetables.
Tzatziki sauce is also simple to make at home and can be made ahead of time; making homemade tzatziki is a great way to add something new to your summer grilling menu.
Start by dicing a cucumber into small pieces. Then, take plain Greek yogurt and season it to taste with salt, pepper, minced garlic (about one clove per cup of yogurt), and fresh chopped herbs like dill. Drizzle the yogurt with olive oil and a small splash of red wine vinegar, then mix to combine. Stir in the cucumber and serve.
Tzatziki sauce can also be stored in the refrigerator, in an air-tight container, for up to three days.
