It's Here! Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte's Secret Sauce Arrives In Stores

Could Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes be arriving sooner than we think? Jugs of the sauce used to make the iconic drink are already being delivered to stores, employees of the coffee chain revealed on Reddit.

The seasonal favorite is usually rolled out nationally right after Labor Day, but the chain is known for offering it as a secret menu item in August.

"August 11th, 2017 1:09pm EST Pumpkin spice logged and confirmed. Halloween is 81 days away, Thanksgiving is 104. Whys [sic] is this here so early....." Reddit user AppKerman posted along with a photo of an enormous jug of pumpkin spice flavored sauce.

Despite this barista's lack of enthusiasm, other Starbucks' employees on the Starbucks subreddit seemed genuinely excited to have the spicy, pumpkin flavored drink in their midst.

"So we have pumpkin spice now...and I'm pretty pumped. Anyone else have PS super early?" said Reddit user catheadotornado.

"It's in the house!!" replied Javagirl2015.

The Reddit thread not only revealed that many employees of the coffee chain have divergent feelings regarding PSLs, but it also hinted at what other flavors may or may not be getting released.

"No gingerbread this year me thinks," posted the user Novercalis. "I heard a maple pecan rumor," followed up someone called thrownormanaway.

Whether baristas are able to whip up a PSL for paying customers now is a matter of debate. Starbucks employee and Reddit poster enzrhyme wrote "We have it, but a note to everyone in case they aren't aware – we CANNOT sell it until September 5th." But another poster said that their manager said they could sell it, but had to charge for a "white mocha" because the registers don't have a PSL button yet.

We advise trying to ask for it and seeing what happens. You just may luck out and drink a PSL while wearing flip-flops. You can also try hitting up your local grocery store for the new pre-bottled version. If that doesn't work and you need a PSL fix, then make a pumpkin spice latte at home. And know you are not alone. Here's why pumpkin spice season can't start early enough for one of our editors.
