Mon Petit Four
During the holidays it’s always fun to have friends and family come over and enjoy drinks and food while watching television. You can go all out and throw a huge dinner party or you can have a small gathering and serve appetizers and drinks. When you make appetizers this year, you can go sweet and make cheesecake dip or Brie en croute topped with jam. Or, you can go the savory route and make a roasted beet dip, spinach and mushroom bites, or crostini. Open up a few bottles of wine and serve these wonderful appetizers. There are so many appetizer options you can serve at your next holiday dinner party and that’s why we made it the theme of this week’s SWAT (Sharing With A Theme).
Here are this week’s highlights:
Spinach and Mushroom Pizza Bites
Indulge in these mushroom pizza bites at your next party. People traditionally serve stuffed mushrooms with bread crumbs, but Marjory Pilley of Dinner Mom stuffs her mushroom caps with spinach pizza goodness.
Bacon-Wrapped Figs with Goat Cheese
These bites make a handy appetizer for parties because they already come on toothpicks! Aaron Hutch of The Hungry Hutch blog gives you a combination of salty, sweet, fruity, and smoky with these bacon wrapped figs.
Brie En Croute
The combination of a flaky and crisp puff pastry with a creamy wheel of cheese and tart jam is all you ever need in an appetizer. Beeta Hashempour of Mon Petit Four blog bakes Brie inside of a puff pastry and tops it with a jam of her choice. The cheese melts and you’re able to scoop it up with the crusty puff pastry. This is a super simple recipe that packs a lot of flavor — that’s why Beeta Hashempour is the winner of this week’s SWAT. Serve this appetizer with wine and your guests will be very satisfied.
