Asheville, N.C. will host the fifth annual Asheville Wine and Food Festival on August 22-24.
Events throughout the weekend will let guests support and appreciate where and who the food comes from. The farm-to-festival vibe will highlight the top chefs in the area, artisan food producers, craft brewers, and the finest regional and international wines.
There will be three signature events including, Elixir, Sweet, and Grand Tasting. Elixir is the newest of the three and will feature local mixologists competing to see who can make the best craft cocktail from regionally and nationally produced spirits. It will take place the first night of the festival.
Sweet, taking place the second night, will satisfy your sweet tooth with a variety of desserts, sparkling and dessert wines, as well as specialty spirits and cocktails.
The Grand Tasting will wrap up the festival and is the weekend’s main event. It brings the best of the epicurean scene under one roof. There will be cooking demonstrations, fine wines, cuisine from local restaurants, craft beers and sprits, even and amateur winemaker competition. The WNC Chefs Challenge finale will be held during this time as well.
