Las Vegas Is Home To A Restaurant Entirely Devoted To Bacon

Whether your craving for bacon hits hard in the morning, or you need to sop up suds in your stomach late-night, Downtown Las Vegas' Bacon Nation has you covered. The 24/7 bacon-centric restaurant that opened in late 2022 is the first of its kind in Vegas.

Housed in The D Casino & Hotel on Fremont Street, Bacon Nation has apparently filled a previously unrealized void in Vegas. After their very first week, the restaurant had to place a rush order to restock after selling copious amounts of the cured pork. And in addition to meeting the demand for a menu based on one of America's favorite meats, Bacon Nation is also one of the few elevated 24/7 dining options in Las Vegas' downtown.

Owned by Las Vegas-based Downtown Hospitality Group, Bacon Nation has Chef Josh Green at the helm. The successful chef has been involved with numerous other notable Las Vegas restaurants including SkinnyFATS, Mandalay Bay's Aureole, Boa Steakhouse at Caesar's, and Daniel Boulud Brasserie at the Wynn Las Vegas. Now he's the main mastermind behind the bacon-laden menu at Bacon Nation.

What's on the menu at Bacon Nation?

Unsurprisingly, there's quite a bit of bacon on the menu at Bacon Nation. The restaurant features honey-cured, thick-cut bacon in over a dozen varieties, ranging from honey sriracha and mango habanero to black truffle, tajin, and everything bagel. Choose the Three Lil' Pigs appetizer and you'll get to try three different flavors in a flight of bacon.

Breakfast options include a variety of Benedicts and build-your-own omelets (or plates), but the star of the morning meal show is the French Toast Box — doughy boxes stuffed with sweet or savory ingredients. One sweet version includes bacon and caramelized bananas and is topped with a luscious peanut butter mousse, while a savory variety features sausage, bacon, and scrambled eggs enveloped in the dough and topped with cheese sauce. Pair any of these with a Bloody Mary made with bacon-infused vodka, of course.

While there's certainly no shortage of bacon dishes to order from on the lunch and dinner menus, one standout is the Reverse BLT. This creative sandwich swaps out the bread on the top and bottom for hand-weaved bacon lattices. In another show of creativity, the Boarrito also features the weaved bacon, encasing the filling of four types of pork, as well as cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo.

There's no skimping on bacon on the dessert menu, either. Candied bacon adorns a skillet of s'mores and is baked into an apple coffee cake, and the New York-style cheesecake is generously drizzled with a maple bacon reduction.

Snap shots of your food and the space -- or grab your bacon to go

From the bacon-encased burrito and reverse BLT to the boozy milkshakes, plenty on the menu is drool-worthy enough to warrant finding its way to your social media feed. However, the restaurant itself is Instagram-worthy, too. Booths and lounge-style seating back up to exposed brick walls featuring brightly-colored artwork and punny phrases like "You're bacon me so happy."

However, if you find that all 120 seats in the stylish space are taken, or you just want to indulge in bacony gluttony in privacy (no judgment here), Bacon Nation has a creative solution for that. The restaurant has employed new technology to create a seamless to-go situation. Once an order has been placed, you can pick up your food at the suggested time from lockers that are either heated or refrigerated. Minimizing wait time and the need to stand in lines, Bacon Nation is making sure that there's nothing standing between you and your bacon.
