You Can Do Dessert Shots With A Robot In Las Vegas

In the modern dessert game, it's go big or go home. Around the country, several eateries have pushed the limits of sweet treats to some truly ridiculous yet undeniably delicious places.

At Ms. Cheezious in Miami, you can eat the outrageously ooey-gooey s'mores melt, which takes all the ingredients of the classic campfire concoction and sandwiches them between two pieces of sourdough (via Food Network). Atlanta's Cheesecaked offers the Shakin' the Cookie Jar milkshake; an ice cream treat with a towering topper made of different desserts. For a fake potted plant filled with a 10-layer cheesecake and served alongside an artificial watering can of black rose milk tea, head to New York City's Spot Dessert Bar.

Though these desserts are certainly bold, it's possible that they aren't as audacious as another, more futuristic one. In Las Vegas, you can have your sweets served by a cookie cyborg.

Dominique Ansel and the cookie shot

Celebrity baker Dominique Ansel is best known as the inventor of the cronut, a fluffy, flaky mashup of croissant and donut, per The Guardian. However, he is also the inventor of the cookie shot, one of the most mind-blowing food trends of 2014. A fresh take on a classic pairing, Ansel Bakery's cookie shot features a chocolate chip cookie-constructed shot glass that is filled with a glug of cold milk. Vanity Fair described the cookie shots as "otherworldly in their goodness," citing their affinity for the dessert's sweet milk and chewy cookie.

Recently, Ansel brought the cookie shot to an entirely new level by introducing the world to the Cookie Shot Vending Machine, a fully-automated dispenser of the famous dessert (via Forbes). Open 24/7 at Dominique Ansel Las Vegas in Caesars Palace, this innovative sweet treat contraption can deal out a whopping 75 cookie shots in an hour.

The Cookie Shot Vending Machine

Forbes quotes Dominique Ansel's description of the cookie shot robot's operating procedure. He says, "you'll first scan a QR code and select how many cookie shots you'd like, check out, and watch as the robot selects your cookie shot and fills it up with cold-infused vanilla milk." He also tells us that the machine's milk is infused with Madagascan vanilla, which The Spice House explains has a more intense flavor profile than other types of vanilla.

KTLA news reporter Rich DeMuro visited the Cookie Shot Vending Machine and gave the dessert glowing reviews. He assured audiences that the shot was alcohol-free while complimenting its milk-infused base, which he compared to the bottom of an ice cream cone.

The Cookie Shot Vending Machine has automated every step of the dessert delivery process. Its robot arm pours you a shot just as capably as your local bartender. Just make sure that you're drinking your milk responsibly!
