The World's Biggest Wine List
The only thing you need to know about Bern's Steak House is that the wine list is bigger than Tampa's phone book. And maybe that they serve some of the best steaks in the country. But mostly it's the wine. Located in Tampa, Fla., Bern's has consistently been rated one of America's top restaurants, but more importantly, it boasts the world's largest wine list, with more than 500,000 bottles in its cellar. The list weighs 5 pounds. The mark-ups are also remarkably low, with wines sometimes being listed at or below retail prices.
If you don't already want to book a reservation this minute, we've got one more item to entice you: a separate floor dedicated entirely to dessert and dessert wines. When you arrive at Bern's, you will be asked if you would like to order dessert after dinner (uh, duh), and if you do, you will be given a reservation in their upstairs dessert room, where you can choose from dozens of house-made sweets and a confounding array of dessert wines.
