Woman Banned From 'Blokes Only' Beer Contest
Last week a New Zealand woman tried to enter her home brew into a competition, but she was told it was a "blokes only" contest.
The woman, aptly named Rachel Beer (with a brew named "Beer's Beer") told the New Zealand Herald that she has nothing against the Lake Hayes A&P Show, but "it'd be great if the rules could be changed to meet modern times."
Beer has been brewing for the past four years or so, and was reportedly told that she could enter her beer, but it wouldn't be judged. "Who cares if I have or haven't got balls?" she said. "At the end of the day a home brew is a home brew."
The New Zealand Herald got the show president to talk, and his response was to suggest that Beer should propose a women's or mixed-sex competition next year.
