The Fifteen Grenache 2000

100% Grenache, mostly from very old vines, cropped at less than 2 tons per acre. Grown just north of Spain in French Catalonia. No oak, just great, ripe fruit. The name The Fifteen refers to the 15 degrees of alcohol in this red gentle giant from southern France.

"This selection of low-yielding, old vine Grenache boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as a big, thick nose of kirsch liqueur intermixed with pepper, spice, earth, and black fruits. There is excellent density, full body, and a whoppingly rich, concentrated finish. The 15% alchohol is well hidden by the wine's abundant fruit. It should evolve and drink well for 5-8 years, perhaps longer."
