Taza Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory located in Somerville, Massachusetts. Taza is the only producer in the U.S. of 100% organic, stone ground chocolate crafted from Direct Trade certified cacao.
We roast, winnow, grind, temper, and wrap our chocolate in house and by hand. All of our products are certified USDA organic, OU Kosher Pareve, and gluten-, dairy-, and soy-free. Inspired by centuries-old Mexican chocolate making traditions, we use Oaxacan stone mills to craft boldly flavored chocolate. Taza Chocolate is one of very few companies employing stone mills, as opposed to steel refiners, to grind cacao. The stones are hand-chiseled with a pattern specifically designed for grinding chocolate. Pieces of cacao and crystals of sugar remain in the finished chocolate, giving it a distinctive rustic texture and intense cacao flavor.
