Farmhouse dining meets Japanese cuisine at chef Tyson Cole’s, Uchiko. Like its sister, Uchi, Uchiko presents the ultimate dining experience with composed dishes and sushi, lauding sustainability as a high priority.

  • A trip to Uchiko is a treat for the senses, with creative flavor pairings in dishes like rosemary-smoked duck with candied citrus or pork-belly-and-egg sushi. Decor is almost too beautiful to look at.
  • The P-38 roll is epic, the Hot Rock is fantastic when you're looking for a non-fish option, and the Fried Milk (pictured) is the best dessert in Austin, and quite possibly all of America.
  • With Paul Qui's recent Top Chef win and rise to celebrity stardom, we can no longer keep Uchiko's Japanese farmhouse fare to ourselves. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Love everything about this restaurant, from the philosophy on food to the inviting environment and of course the amazing food
  • This Asian restaurant's offerings buck the green-tea-ice-cream trend. Must order: sweet corn sorbet with polenta custard.
  • This spot's got tongue-bending Japanese cuisine w/ signature makimono rolls like the "Jiiro" (smoked loch duart salmon, avocado, preserved lemon) & has one of the most impressive sake lists in town.
  • James Bear Award-winning Chef Tyson Coles restaurant offers painstakingly crafted bites like Jar Jar Duck - Seared duck breast and duck confit served in a mason jar and pumped full of flavored smoke.
  • The Fried Milk is the best dessert in the country right now. Seriously. Not that you can go wrong with anything on Tyson Cole's epic menu. Just make sure you leave room for the Milk for dessert.
  • This spot for Japanese farmhouse dining offers a discounted sake social in the bar.
  • Brussel sprouts. Oh my god so good. I want a popcorn sized bucket of these
  • puts Nobu to shame. shime saba, bacon tataki, and yokai berry all highlights.
  • P-38 roll rocks
  • Simply brilliant! Sibling to Paul Quis Uchi, get ready for some wildly creative Japanese food art! Stunning beautiful presentations & mind-blowing desserts! Understandably... space is always limited!
  • Head to the sister restaurant of Uchi for some of the best Japanese food in North America.Their chef also recently won Top Chef!
  • This ones for you sushi lovers that want your traditional meal to come with a twist. Even the desserts are impressive. If you want to go balls to the wall try the 10 dish tasting menu.
  • A lot less Japanese than Uchi, but still good.
  • Chef's tasting menu had mostly hits. Jar Jar Duck was like a perfect spin on duck a l'orange - candied kumquats and sweet, smoky flavor.
  • If you are a sushi fan visiting (or living) in the Austin area you must try Uchiko. While they have the classic mix of japanese dishes, they are all unique twists ....Uchiko's "goes to 11" must visit
  • Life. Changing. Brussel. Sprouts.
  • Simplest tip - eat here, it is fantastic
