Escape Your Everyday Life at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, Colorado (Slideshow)
A View From Above
Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa is situated in Gateway, Colorado at the convergence of five canyons. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, history buff, hobby paleontologist, or gastronomist, you’ll find something here to excite you.
Plenty of Room
Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa boasts 72 rooms to accommodate its guests. They range from anything-but-ordinary guest suites to private casitas outfitted with personal butlers.
Soak It In
At the end of a long day adventuring, you really can’t beat sinking into a soaking tub with a glass of wine, especially when the tub is as inviting as this one.
One of the best places on site to relax is by the Palisade pools. They sit in the shadow of the famed Palisade rock formation and offer two free-form pools for relaxation or activity, as well as a large hot tub, and The Cantina, where you can grab a quick bite to eat or something to quench your thirst.
Drive Like a Pro
The collaborative effort of Jeff Humberson and Andrew Hendricks, Driven Pro-Baha allows patrons to put themselves in the seat of a Pro-Baha racer. Whether you’re riding along (as I did) or springing for the full instructional experience, your pulse is sure to quicken!
One of the best ways to experience The West is on horseback. The Palisade Ranch, a recent addition to Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, offers packages that include short and long trail rides geared at riders of all abilities.
A Different Kind of Horsepower
Borrow a bit of luxury for a short while and rent an exotic car from Driven Experiences, on site at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa. Choose from their herd of ponies and let them loose through the scenic countryside!
Lost and Found
The Gateway Auto Museum houses the largest private collection of cars in the United States. Inside its doors, you’ll find the 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 — a concept car that many thought was completely lost.
Breakfast of Champions
Entrada excels at breakfast. This Smoked Brisket Hash and Eggs: scrambled eggs, tater tots, pickled onion, tomatillo salsa, guacamole, and fresh crema was just one of the many menu items I enjoyed during my stay at the resort.
A Treat to Beat the Heat
That desert heat may get to you without proper refreshment. Fortunately, captivating cocktails are plentiful, like this prickly pear margarita enjoyed on the porch at Palisade Ranch.
