Colorado has many talented symphonies spread across the state, making it easy to find a show or series that caters to your personal tastes. The Colorado Symphony, based in Denver, puts on many shows throughout the year, catering to every age group and demographic. The symphony's fall series is no different, offering a wide array of shows. The season opener will be dedicated to Beethoven's most iconic work, Symphony No. 9, and will also be the kickoff of the Colorado Symphony Chorus' 30th anniversary season. Music Director Andrew Litton conducts Beethoven Symphony No. 9 on September 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m.

The Longmont Symphony is known for its eclectic and well-executed performances, this fall should prove no different. On October 4, conductor Robert Olson will embark on a journey through the Austrian/Hungarian Empire. The show will feature songs like "Dances of Galanta," "Wanderer Variations," "TotenTanz" and "Concerto for Orchestra." The Austrian/Hungarian Empire will take place on October 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The Aurora Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 2014/2015 season with "Musical Fancies" which will feature many known works as well as an oboe concerto by Mozart. Conductor Norman Gamboa and oboe player Max Soto will take event-goers on a journey through Oboe Concerto in C major, Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 and The Afternoon of a Faun. The Orchestra will perform at Highpoint Church Southlands in the Southlands Mall area at 3 p.m. on October 19.

In a magical fusion of Broadway musical and Hollywood yesteryear, Colorado Symphony Orchestra is celebrating Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly and Eleanor Powell in a singing, dancing, musical evening. Scott O'Neil conducts as Joan Hess and Kirby Ward dance up a storm in "Dancing and Romancing."

The event is not overly spooky, making it fun for kids of all ages, and everyone is encouraged to wear a costume and embark on a Halloween musical journey. The Halloween Spooktacular starts on October 26 at 1 p.m.
