Super(Duper) Market Opens For The Weekend
Grapefruit jalapeño honey soda, ginger bourbon pecan pie, bagels with caviar spread, and many other scrumptious products will be on sale this weekend at the Super(Duper) Paper Market. Dreamt up by Paper Magazine's editor and co-founder Kim Hastreiter, the Super(Duper) market will host food vendors and retailers from the east and west coasts in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood.
When asked what her goal for the market was Hastreiter said, "Simply to bring all of these great people together."
Paper Magazine did just that by coordinating a pop-up market that will have everything from salsa from the Brooklyn Salsa Co. to seasonal blends from Boulette's Larder in San Francisco. The vendors are selling dishes from their restaurants and some products created to enhance the dishes you cook on your own.
The Super(Duper) Market also has a vast array stands from restaurants and vendors specializing in ethnic cuisines, including dishes and products from Jewish delicatessens as well as from Ethiopian and Japanese eateries.
Located 410 W. 16th Street near the Chelsea Market, the pop-up market will only be open from July 13 to 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Sunday, and with extended hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, so do not miss it. And be sure you go on an empty stomach because there will be plenty to taste, sample, and chow down on.
