'Super Size Me' Morgan Spurlock Joins CNN

Looks like Anthony Bourdain might have some competition in CNN waters. Super Size Me filmmaker Morgan Spurlock is joining the CNN cast, hosting a new original series called Inside Man.

The premise: "Each week Spurlock will provide an insider's view into rarely-seen sectors of American life that include gun lovers, marijuana growers, migrant farm workers, and end-of-life caregivers," the press release says.

Word is the show will air April 2013, around the same time as Bourdain's new show. A CNN representative tells us that topics listed above are are the ones agreed on, but new topics (including potentially food-related and fast food-related ones) are up for discussion.

Of course, it wouldn't be surprising if Spurlock did do some more food-related segments; he most recently produced Hulu's A Day in the Life series, which notably featured Mario Batali.

"Morgan Spurlock's name has become synonymous with creative and thought-provoking documentary story-telling," Mark Whitaker, CNN Worldwide executive vice president said in a statement. "Like Anthony Bourdain's new CNN series, Inside Man will carry the distinctive stamp of its host while taking viewers on colorful and informative journeys into fascinating corners of American society."
