If you are looking for a casual, down-to-earth lunch spot with solid food and a cozy atmosphere, Tbsp is a great choice. Tbsp brings fresh, seasonal ingredients from farms in upstate New York right to your table on weekdays or for a delicious brunch on the weekends. A spin off from Spoon, the catering company next door, Tbsp serves creative variations of all traditional breakfast and lunch dishes.
The counter service on weekdays features a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. Other than the regular menu, there are always daily specials as well as freshly squeezed juices and Stumptown coffee. Waiters and waitresses are incessantly hustling and bustling in their “Spoon-fed” t-shirts, taking orders non-stop and carrying trays of sandwiches and entrees from the kitchen to replenish the counter. The constant customer flow makes the place even livelier.
Tbsp’s weekend brunch never fails to impress. Although there is usually a line, the delicious food justifies the wait. Out of all of the dishes, the Baked Eggs in a Skillet is the most popular. The rather strong flavored pork sausages balance well with the shiitake mushroom, spinach and savory potato hash at the bottom of the skillet. This dish is best ordered with the eggs sunny side up, as the runny yolk goes well with the spicy sausage and melted cheese. Every bite is filled with a bundle of flavors.
Next time you are looking for a brunch spot with friends, try out the friendly and unpretentious Tbsp!
