Tips

  • A great addition to the East Village! The dumplings are simple and delicious. All ingredients are locally sourced and organic. Tip: small space with few seats; come at an odd time.
  • Go with a friend and order a 6piece of everything, and the ginger iced tea. Opt for the veggie dumplings steamed and the pork and chicken pan fried. A perfect weeknight date!
  • Go with a friend so you can share. Order two of the flavors, get one of them fried and the other steamed.
  • What if I told you there was a place around the corner called Vanessa's that taste exactly the same for a quarter of the price? Organic, local, free-range, these terms don't mean it tastes any better.
  • Don't snooze on the S'mores Dumplings. Yes weird (and maybe they don't even have them anymore) but treat yourself to some kind of "dessert dumpling"
  • Mimi's Secret Sauce
  • Incredible new dumpling place. Get the Mimi chengs pan fried
  • Finally a place to eat dumplings in NYC where the ingredients locally sourced and the plates and utensils are compostable. Time for Xi'an to follow and be eco conscious like the Cheng sisters!
  • Taiwanese dumpling bar, opened by sisters Hannah and Marian Cheng. The meat is sustainably raised and locally sourced, and most ingredients are organic.
  • Come here if you like fresh, organic ingredients, but they don't come close to the flavorful dumplings at Vanessa's or Xi'an Famous Foods.
  • Mimi Cheng, recreation Cheng sisters' home recipe chicken & zucchini in a dumpling. Also try: pork dumplings prepared with bok choy and cabbage, as well as a vegetarian kale, mushroom, & egg dumpling.
  • get a window seat and wave at the people feeling sorry for themselves at the lesser dumpling spots across the street. pour Mimi's secret sauce all over yourself for dramatic effect
  • Not the best dumplings but a good concept. The veggie are better than the other choices
  • I could eat 30 dumplings.
  • Reminds me of home cooking as a kid
  • Delicious hand made dumplings. All fresh and local ingredients.
  • These are great dumplings, but maybe not at the price point. Very clean and the sauces are really delicious!
  • Takes a little while to get the dumplings but my favorite no nonsense quick dinner in the hood. I get half chicken half vegetable and never regret it.
  • Get everything. You're in good (dumpling) hands. Mimi's smile will only make you go back for thirds. Start savory and end with sweet dessert pillows of love. Don't forget the homemade sauce!
  • Extremely fresh and very filling in a good way. Thin silky skin with a heaping portion of meat and veg.
