This rye whiskey based cocktail is given a summery boost with a hint of citrus, sugar, and berries.This recipe is courtesy of Virgil Kaine.

Ingredients

2 pitted cherries
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 ounce demerara syrup
2 ounce rye whiskey, such as virgil kaine robber baron whiskey
1 whole cherry, to garnish

Directions

Muddle all the ingredients except the rye whiskey together in a tumbler. Add rye whiskey and pour into a glass. Top with crushed ice. Garnish with a cherry.
