Mistletoe Mulled Wine


Punch-style cocktails are a hit at holiday parties. This mulled wine is a make-once, serve-all-night cocktail that celebrates the flavors of the holiday. Plus, December 20 is National Sangria Day, so you’re really celebrating two holidays in one with this drink.


1 bottle cabernet sauvignon

3 cinnamon sticks, broken in half

1 tablespoon of cloves

3 star anise

1 whole nutmeg, cracked into two pieces

1 orange peel

Agave nectar to taste


Pour wine into pan and cook over low heat.

Make a sachet with the spices.

Put sachet in pan and simmer for 30 min.

Add agave nectar to taste.

Pour wine through strainer.

Serve in a heatproof glass.

Garnish with cinnamon stick and orange peel (optional).
