Jalapeño Bacon Wrapped Smokies
Tailgating season is upon us!! Here are my infamous (according family & friends) Jalapeno Bacon-wrapped little smokies. Perfect for carnivorous football fans. These bad boys will bring the oldest of rivalries together at one table. I should know, our house is divided between ROLL TIDE and GEAUX TIGERS. Make these ahead for your next tailgate to go or monday night football fest. If meat candy were a thing, these would be the Ghirardelli of the delectable sweet and spicy world. Just try not to eat the whole pan in one sitting.
- 1 stick of sweet cream butter
- 6 Tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 Teaspoon garlic salt
- salt/pepper to taste
- 1 package of maple smoked bacon
- 2 14 oz packages of little smokies
- 2 Tablespoons diced jalapeños
Spray non-stick pan with thin layer or olive oil to coat. Cut the bacon into quarters. Wrap each smokie from the corner down while pulling bacon tightly. Rub wrapped smokies with mixture of 3 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp Tony's (or salt/pepper to taste), and 1 tsp garlic powder. Bake on 350F for 30 minutes or until the bacon starts to crisp. Take out the weenies and the pour melted mixture of 3 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp Tony's (or salt/pepper to taste), 2 tbsp diced jalapeño, and 1 stick of butter over all of them evenly and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
