Hair of the Lion Cocktail

Created by bartender Adam Harness, this riff on the pre-Prohibition Hair of the Lion cocktail replaces whiskey with rum and adds egg white.

  • 2 ounces Appleton Estate Reserve rum
  • 1/2 ounce St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 egg white
  • Ice
  • Freshly grated nutmeg


Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice and strain into coupe. Garnish with nutmeg.
