This red chili paste is savory, spicy, and flavorful; using even a little completely transforms any boring plate of food. Gochujang provides the perfect counter-balance to the richness of macaroni and cheese.

Ingredients
  • 2 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoon gochujang hot sauce, such as bibigo's
Directions
  1. Cook macaroni according to box directions, then drain the water.
  2. Chop onion and garlic into small pieces.
  3. In a heated pan, mix butter and flour to make a ‘roux,’ and gently pour milk to make béchamel sauce
  4. Add Go-Chu-Jang sauce and cheddar cheese, mix well. Add oil to another heated pot, and saute chopped onion and garlic. After a few minutes, add cooked macaroni and mix in the cheese sauce
  5. Put everything into the baking dish and add mozzarella cheese on top. Bake for 20 minutes in 400 degree preheated oven
