Deep-Fried Stuffing Fritters
To make stuffing fritters, simply combine two recipes: your favorite hush puppy recipe and your go-to stuffing recipe.
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1 Cup chopped celery
- 1 Cup chopped onions
- 2 links turkey sausage
- 2 Cups self-rising cornmeal mix
- 3 Tablespoons self-rising flour
- 1 Cup milk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- Vegetable oil, for deep-frying
Add butter to a skillet and cook the celery, onion, and sausage over medium-high heat. In a separate bowl, combine self-rising cornmeal and flour. In another bowl, combine milk with a lightly beaten egg. Mix vegetable mixture, cornmeal mixture, and buttermilk mixture together. Drop the batter, 1 fritter at a time, into 350 degrees vegetable oil. Fry until golden brown.
