Carrot Caramel Almond Twist

Mix together holiday flavors with some bright, fresh flavors in this unique tea-infused cocktail

Get the sweet, rich taste of caramel in your holiday cocktails without all of that heaviness and extra calories by using a caramel-flavored tea syrup. Aged rum adds in a spicy richness to this drink, with carrot juice and lime juice for some much-needed freshness.

For the caramel almond amaretti syrup:

  • 8 Ounces rock sugar
  • 8 Ounces water
  • 1 Ounce Teavana Caramel Almond Amaretti loose leaf tea

For the cocktail:

  • 3/4 Ounces carrot juice
  • 3/4 Ounces lime juice
  • 1 Ounce caramel almond amaretti syrup
  • 1 1/2 Ounce aged rum, preferably Barbancourt or Gosling Brothers
  • Ice
  • Carrot wheels, for garnish
  • Lime wheel, for garnish
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, for garnish


For the caramel almond amaretti syrup:

In a small saucepan, combine rock sugar, water, and loose leaf tea.

Simmer for 5 minutes.

Let steep for 20 minutes.

Fine strain.

For the cocktail:

On large pieces of ice, shake all ingredients except garnishes.

Into a Belgian glass, fine strain the cocktail.

Top with ice cubes.

Garnish with carrot wheels, lime wheel, and halved vanilla bean.
