This delicious cake batter French toast is a sweet delicious treat for morning and can even double as a dessert. Here we use Betty Crocker lemon cake mix, but any cake mix flavor can be substituted.
Cake Batter French Toast
  • 5 slices stale bread
  • 1 cup dry betty crocker lemon cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • butter, for frying
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake mix, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  2. Melt the butter in a non-stick fryin pan on medium-high. Dip the slices of bread into the cake batter custard. Cook the slices in the frying pan for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until both sides are a golden brown.
  3. Serve with powdered sugar, preserves, and syrup.
