These Brazilian “truffles” are proof that good things come in small packages. Made with just two basic ingredients — sweetened condensed milk and chocolate — they make the perfect decadent treat when you’re short on time or ingredients.

  • 1 (14) Ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ Cup miniature chocolate chips
  • Butter, for rolling
  • Sprinkles, for rolling


Pour the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips into a small saucepan and place the pan over medium-high heat.

Stirring constantly, cook the sweetened condensed milk until thickened. You’ll know it’s ready when you draw a line through the sweetened condensed milk and it takes a few seconds for the line to fill itself back in.

Pour the cooked sweetened condensed milk into a wide, shallow dish (like a heat-proof baking dish) and allow it to cool.

When the sweetened condensed milk has cooled, rub a small amount of butter on your hands and then roll the sweetened condensed milk into small balls. Roll each ball into your choice of sprinkles, coarse sanding sugar, chopped nuts, or shredded coconut.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.
