Pet Blog: St. Paul To Celebrate 'Bark & Rec Day'

Harriet Island may have been underwater for a good part of the summer. But now it's all dried up and ready for some wiggly butts!

Please, let me explain.

Sunday is Saint Paul Parks and Recreation's Bark and Rec Day, which includes the 2014 Wiggle Butt 5K.

Dogs and humans can have some great outdoor fun, which includes the 5K walk and run, a dog fashion show, live music, food, pet demos, a climbing wall, a bouncy house and much, much more. And the whole shebang is free!

The 5K will benefit Midwest Animal Rescue And Services. As of early Friday evening, MARS is at the half-way mark of reaching their fundraising goal of $60,000.

The Wiggle Butt 5K starts Sunday at 8 a.m., and all the other activities run from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m.
