Perfect Hot Chocolate


Everybody looks for the perfect hot choclate. It needs to be creamy, luscious, and most importantly hold that rich choclate flavor. 


  • 1 Ounce dark or semisweet chocolate
  • 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons superfine sugar
  • 1 Pinch of sea salt


Over low heat in a small saucepan, combine chocolate, cocoa powder and half of the milk. Stir continuously with a whisk until chocolate is completely melted. Add remaining milk and pinch of Sea salt. Gently simmer over medium-low heat until warmed through. Stir in superfine sugar to taste.

Pour hot chocolate into a mug and top with whipped cream or chocolate covered marshmallows. Garnish with a small peppermint candy cane.
