As August comes to a close, stone fruits are at their ripest. With fresh, sweet peaches and plums available at every market and their soft flesh starring in many dishes these late summer days, why not take some inspiration and have a peach-flavored cocktail.
Created by Chef Jared Van Camp for his upcoming Chicago restaurant's 'kitchen cocktail' program, this swizzle mixes peach with mint and ginger, and is served with shaved ice, perfect for a late August refreshment. The recipe is also made with peach preserves rather than fresh peaches, so though they are incredibly tasty this time of year, they can be enjoyed year-round.
