A 'Hunger Games' Amusement Park Is Coming And Peeta Mellark's Bakery Is One Of The Attractions

You knew this day would come eventually:  First the bestselling Hunger Games book series was turned into a blockbuster film franchise, and now Lionsgate is making an entire amusement park based on the beloved YA dystopian novels, according to the New York Times. The Hunger Games park will be part of a larger amusement park called Avatron, based on Lionsgate, DreamWorks, and Sony picture studios movies.

The Hunger Games section will look like District 12, Katniss' hometown in the movies. You'll be able to ride a rollercoaster that imitates the wild ride of a high-speed Capital train, and yes, sample bread from Peeta's bakery and contraband from the Hob black market (we wonder if they'll really have fresh game caught by Gale and Katniss, or would that be a little too realistic?).

There will also be a simulator ride that will take guests on a bird's eye hovercraft tour of Panem, the grim, dystopian fictional United States of the future.

The park is scheduled to open next year in Atlanta, with attractions from other blockbuster movies like the Divergent series, Step Up, and the vampire series, Twilight. May the odds (and chances of scoring tickets!) ever be in our favor.
